FALL RIVER – The time is almost upon us when makers will gather in the Spindle City for the first annual Southcoast MA Mini Makers Faire. The event will take place on Sunday, September 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fall River YMCA located at 199 North Main Street, Fall River. Tickets are FREE with Registration both online and at the door.

Makers from the South Coast and beyond are coming together to turn the Gateway City of Fall River into a hub of the South Coast Maker Movement. As new technologies become a growing part of our lives, an artistic community emerges and the spirit of entrepreneurism explodes in our region.

The Southcoast MA Mini Makers Faire hopes to be a catalyst for inspiration and enthusiasm to a new generation of Makers. The maker’s movement is a great opportunity for the entire community to come together in a grand and unique partnership for the betterment of “creative kids” of all ages. Come play with robots, experience locally made art, crafts, anything goes technologies, an internet of things, tons of fun filled hands on activities, show and tell and entertaining performances.  This is a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement.  The future is yours for the taking…. AND FOR FREE!

If you want to spend a family-friendly Sunday seeing the latest in local innovation join us and bring your friends!

The Southcoast MA Mini Maker Faire is put on by a volunteer committee and supported by the following community partners and sponsoring organizations:

Make Magazine, Fall River YMCA, Atlantis Charter School, UMass Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, SNEEF (Southern New England Entrepreneur Forum), The Business Innovation Center, CNP Integrations, Mallard Printing, Fall River Community TV, Bristol Community College, Aha Fall River, Narrows Center for the Arts, Tinker Bristol, City of Fall River, TJ’s Music, The Children’s Museum, EforAll, Northeast Engravers Supply Co.
